Pablo Sandoval is back. I’m not claiming he’s back to what he was pre-injury, but he might be. His presence though was definitely felt last night, and while you could chalk the fact that every position player in the game (minus the 1 at-bat Stewart had) got a hit to the warm Arizona evening, I’m going to give Panda some credit. Everybody looked a little less miserable and I’m sure it lifted the burden of Ross, Huff and Schierholtz, who seem to take turns saving games for us lately.

Go Giants!

Times are tough…

The economy is not what it once was and many people are now faced with what they have to do to make ends meet…

My Uncle has a spare bedroom and after the kids moved out, he decided to rent it!  Not a bad idea for $600 a month?

He gave me a call and we set him up with a full size Wallhugger Futon set that works perfect for the space! It cost him less than a grand delivered with a 5 Year warranty and will pay for itself after a couple months…

Multi-functional Furniture!!

This piece of multi-functional furniture from The Futon Shop can change from a beautiful dark wooden chest to a drop down twin or queen size bed!   Many people I have spoke with over the last year or two have been downsizing and choosing to save money renting a studio rather than a one bedroom…  This chest works perfect in a small space!  It operates like a Murphy Bed,  Just dropping down as a soft comfortable bed at night and a functional piece of furniture with storage draws when closed! And like the Murphy Bed, our Organic Futons are hand made in San Francisco!!

William Lawrence Murphy (1876–1959), applied for a patent for the Murphy bed on April 1, 1916, and was granted Design Patent D49,273 on June 27, 1916. Murphy started the Murphy Wall Bed Company and began production in San Francisco. In January 1990, the company changed its name to the “Murphy Bed Co. Inc.”.

In 1989, an appellate court held that the term “Murphy Bed” is no longer entitled to trademark cover because a substantial majority of the public perceive the term as a generic term for a bed that folds into a wall, rather than the specific model made by the Murphy Bed Co

Enough is enough with this Bay Area Storm!

OK, I have sad it before and I’ll say it again! Enough is enough with this Bay Area storm!  Please drive careful in the high winds, heavy rain and flooded roads!!

The downpours have caused treacherous driving conditions in the Bay Area.  Gusts of 50 mph or more forced The C.H.P. to stop big rigs ad RV’s from crossing the Richmond/San Rafael Bridge.  The wind also toppled power lines in Pacifica where HWY 1 was shut down in both directions.

Forecasters predict that the storm will generate thunder showers, high winds and even tornadic conditions through Friday!

I think if everyone would just turn on their headlights, slow down, and use common sense while driving, the roads will be much safer!

Tahoe Spring Skiing in May? Woohoo!

What is up with these storms in the Bay Area?  Enough is enough already!  I guess I won’t be playing any golf in the near future… Oh well…   On the bright side, Tahoe Spring skiing is off the hook!   Squaw is staying open until May 31st, and Kirkwood and Heavenly are both staying open until May 1st.   Load up your snowboards/ skis and put on your Hawaiian shirts, shorts, and sunscreen and go enjoy the slopes!   In May, you could probably ski one day and sunbath on the beach the next?  AWESOME! Here are the up to date ski conditions!

A Million Dollar Show!

Don’t miss The San Francisco Flower and Garden Show at the  San Mateo Event Center GOING ON NOW!!  March 23rd – March 27th! Whether you are looking to landscape your yard or you’re just a flower lover,  it’s worth checking out!!  I stopped by last year just to visit a friend who had a booth and ended up staying and enjoying the show for hours!

I was surprised to learn that the companies and organizations creating gardens at The SF Flower & Garden Show do not pay the Show to exhibit.   Actually,  the Show pays each of them and provides support including lighting, electricity, water, heavy equipment, labor, rocks and mulch.  The Show’s total direct cost of assisting its garden creators is well over one million dollars!

Help celebrate “Life in the California Garden” with food, wine, fun, flowers and more.

Enjoy your St. Patrick’s day with a few Irish Jokes!

How do two Irish men change a light bulb?  One holds the bulb and the other starts drinking until the room spins.

Two Irish mothers, Kate and Lorna were talking about their sons.  Kate says, ‘My Patrick is such a saint. He works hard, doesn’t smoke, and he hasn’t so much as looked at a woman in over two years.’  Lorna responds, ‘Well, my Francis is a saint himself. Not only hasn’t he not looked at a woman in over three years, but he hasn’t touched a drop of liquor in all that time.’  ‘My word,’ says Kate, ‘You must be so proud.’  ‘I am,’ announces Lorna, ‘And when he’s paroled next month, I’m going to throw him a big party.’

An Irish Man is sitting in the pub with his wife and he says, “I love you.” She asks, “Is that you or the beer talking?” He replies, “It’s me talking to the beer.”

A good laugh always helps, and more so when it is celebration time!
